Oppo K5 was announced in China today, featuring the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. The K5 is the latest mid-range smartphone in Oppo’s K-series and is expected to launch in India later this year.
The Oppo K5 was launched alongside the flagship Oppo Reno Ace that features high-end specifications and 65W super-fast charging.
Oppo K5 specifications
The Oppo K5 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on the top and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Featuring a gradient back design, the Oppo K5 is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as the back.
Running on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 on top, the Oppo K5 is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. This is paired with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X of RAM and 64GB or 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. This can be expanded by another 256GB using a microSD card.
On the back, the Oppo K5 sports a 64-megapixel quad camera setup. This setup consists of a 64-megapixel primary camera with Samsung GW1 sensor, f/1.8 aperture and EIS. Other cameras include an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel 4cm macro lens. On the front, it has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
Other features of the Oppo K5 include dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and supports 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging.
Oppo K5 price and availability
The Oppo K5 price starts at CNY 1,899 (approx. Rs 19,000) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The price goes up to CNY 2,499 (approx. Rs 25,000) for the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The Oppo K5 comes in Green, Blue and White colours and will go on sale in China from 17 October.
