PC Games List 2009 Summary

PC gaming in 2009 closely mirrored what was on consoles at the time. Since many of the biggest PC releases would also be on PS3 and Xbox 360. Games like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Ghostbusters, Left 4 Dead 2, and Street Fighter IV would be enjoyed by all gamers. And not just those with an epic high-end gaming PC!

There were so many huge releases in 2009 that a lot of good games sadly slipped under the radar. X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wolfenstein, and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Were all good games but sadly overshadowed by the bigger releases.

The year 2009 had its ups and downs without a doubt but in the end, it turned out to be a reasonable year in gaming. A number of good racing games were released in 2009. Burnout Paradise is actually a 2008 game, though it was nice that it was re-released. Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box had new features, added content, and improvements over the original release. The Colin McRae rally series received an impressive new sequel with Colin McRae: Dirt 2. The new game features five different game events set in real-world environments on four continents.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a first-person shooter was a long-awaited game by countless gamers worldwide. It was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews as soon as it came out.

Dark Sector turned out to be a fun game despite some of the negative reviews it received by those who didn’t like it. Another good sci-fi third-person shooter released in 2009, and the sequel to Red Faction II. Is Red Faction: Guerrilla. There was a long wait since the previous game in the series, 7 years to be exact. But once the new game was released it meant that it was time to get back to Mars. And back to the action!
