PC gaming in 2010 was quite exciting. There was a number of fantastic games released, across all genres and as you can see from our PC games list 2010. There was a great selection for gamers back then. Here we are looking at some of the highlights when it comes to the best PC games of 2010. There was a lot to choose from so narrowing it down was really tough. But have a look and see some of the best games of 2010!
There were some very interesting first person shooter games released for PC in 2010. Two horror/survival based first person shooters were released. Both Metro 2033 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat saw you not just needing to keep your finger on the trigger, but also do whatever it takes to survive against the horde of creepy monsters coming your way! Three very story-driven first-person shooters were released and interestingly they were all sequels. BioShock 2 for some is seen as the weakest game in the series, but when it was first released it was still very, very popular. Fallout: New Vegas was a lot of fun and saw you looking for revenge, answers and a package from the man that left you for dead! There was also the second game in the Mass Effect series which made some huge improvements to the gameplay, so many that it actually makes it hard to go back and play the first game!
Two of the best PC games of 2010 were open world third-person person games. First, one we have is Mafia 2 which put you back in the world of mobsters, set in the 30’s and 40’s. You gotta do what you gotta do to make sure your criminal empire stays on top! Just Cause 2 was an over the top third-person action game that caught people’s attention with its jungle environments and crazy stunts that you could do. Surprisingly, Just Cause 2 also had a fantastic story that was well written and featured some good voice acting.
One of the PC games in 2010 that got a lot of people excited was StarCraft II: Wings Of Liberty. Many gamers just love the StarCraft series and were very excited to once again get back into the war and see what Jim Raynor was going to do in order to lead the rebels against the Terran Dominion. This is what real-time strategy is all about and many gamers simply could not get enough.
One of the big surprises of 2010 was Darksiders. Darksiders is a third-person action game that sees you play the role of War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. You have been accused of something you did not do and must set out on an adventure to clear your name and stop a huge war from destroying everything. This game was incredible. It was similar to Zelda in the way it played, but a lot more violent and brooding. This is a game that features on many best PC games of 2010 lists.
There were some great PC games in 2010 to choose from, but it was third-person action/adventure games and first person shooters that this year will be most remembered for.
