While others did not quite make it on the “must have” list. The best PC games 2009 carried themes that portrayed fighting, military combat, zombies, and much more.


Varieties such as Dark Sector, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Wolfenstein, and Need for Speed: Shift were all worth waiting for. And an excellent reason for new PC enthusiasts to jump on board. Making the list is F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Achieving record numbers in sales.


Special effects became more enhanced in the games released this year. New game console inventions added to the games PC lovers everywhere obsessed over and literally lived for having the newest editions. 2009’s releases paved the way for the most intense, creative, enhanced games. Avatar is set in and around the Pandoran rainforest in the year 2152. You take the role of Lance Corporal Able Ryder. A SecOps signal specialist who arrives on the distant world Pandora.


Able was chosen to participate in the Avatar Program. A little known scientific initiative which is mining Pandora for rare minerals.


You will learn to pilot your own avatar. A hybrid of human DNA and that of Pandora’s indigenous species, the Na’vi.


As you dare to go deeper into the Pandoran jungle. You learn more about its many creatures of Pandora, the Na’vi, and their struggle with the Corporation to save Pandora.

The player controls Batman as he traverses Arkham Asylum. A secure facility for the criminally insane located off the coast of Gotham City. Once you emerge onto the island you can freely explore the game world. Although some areas remain inaccessible until certain milestones in the main story. 


You can glide from heights using Batman’s cape and use his grapple gun to climb low structures or escape to higher ledges. Batman can use Detective Vision which provides information and highlights interactive objects. Such as destructible walls and removable grates.


Batman has access to several gadgets which he can use to explore or fight.





Borderlands PC Game


Borderlands is an action role-playing first-person shooter by Gearbox Software.


The game includes character-building elements found in role-playing games.


At the start of the game, players select one of four characters. Each with a unique special skill and proficiencies with certain weapons. From then on, you proceed to take on missions assigned through non-player characters or from bounty boards. Each rewards you with experience points, money, and sometimes a reward item.


You earn experience points by killing both human and non-human enemies and completing in-game challenges. Players can then allocate skill points into a skill tree. Featuring three distinct specializations of the base character.

As you play Burnout Paradise you are free to progress at your own level and pace.

The game is set in the fictional kingdom of Ferelden. You take the role of a warrior, mage or rogue. Originating from an elven, human, or dwarven background.


Your objective is to unite the kingdom to fight an impending invasion by demonic forces. The game incorporates 6 “Origin Stories”. In which the choice depends on the race and class chosen.


Dwarven nobles begin the game as part of the Dwarven royal family. Whereas in the Dwarf commoner origin, you start as a “lowborn” living in poverty.


Elven commoners begin their story in a separate area in the capital city of Ferelden. In the human noble origin, you start as a Cousland. One of the human noble families in Ferelden city.
